After Rose Manning's father falls victim to a robbery orchestrated by an officer under Inspector McArthur, Rose swears to seek retribution for his death. As half a decade passes, Rose transforms into the hostess of a nightclub, with Chuck Gaines, a bootlegger, as her liquor supplier showing interest in her. Continuing to harbor thoughts of revenge, Rose crosses paths with Jimmy, unaware that he is the inspector's son. Rejecting Gaines' advances, Rose becomes entangled romantically with Jimmy. Her resolve falters as her emotional connection with the younger McArthur deepens, ultimately leading her to prioritize her relationship over her quest for vengeance.
