Israel is reportedly purchasing new trained dogs after the failure of combat canines from the ‘Oketz’ unit. At least 17 Israeli military dogs have been killed in Gaza so far as ‘large dogs’ allegedly belonging to the Hamas militant group are dominating the battlefield, Palestine Chronicle reported, citing Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth. Israel, which has also been accused of killing animals and unleashing attack dogs on wounded Palestinians in Gaza, is now expecting new canines from Germany and Netherlands.
