Harnwell: Zelensky now projects only weakness as his desperate powerplay backfired spectacularly

It was supposed to be a brutal powerplay, leaving everyone clear who was the boss.

Instead, Zelensky blinked first. C-in-C General Zaluzhny refused to go and his two most-likely successors both declined the top job — obliging Victoria “Angel of Death” Nuland to urgently fly to Kiev and tamp down a potential military coup.

So the Washington Post resorts to pretending Biden had been consulted and knew all along. The article is so embarrassingly not true, I had to read it between the gaps in my fingers. Zelensky showed Biden — his most important benefactor — zero respect. He wasn’t even an afterthought.
