"Therefore, my beloved brothers, be firm, steadfast, always fully devoted to the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain." 1 Corinthians 15:58
"No act is charitable if it is not just." St. Bruno
So lets use those two statements to build an episode around them. But please be patient with my rabbit hole approach because I promise I will tie them all together
At the end of our nightly rosary, no matter who is leading the rosary, they will call out to my 4-year-old granddaughter and ask her to provide the ending prayer which is “Come to my aid oh loving Mother”. Now for many they will say how adorable that she says that, but do they really realize that since she was baptized and is not at the age of reason which is required by the Church to commit a mortal sin she is the closest one on that rosary to God. I mean do they really realize that? Do they realize all those children are the closest thing to God among us?
When Christ said Matthew 18:6
"But he that shall scandalize one of these little ones that believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone should be hanged about his neck, and that he should be drowned in the depth of the sea."
Why did he say that? For that matter why did Christ say anything he say, and should we believe what he said.
Well today we kind of just think well we know all that Christ said and it is nice but what does that have to do with me in these modern times? Well how about everything?
Let me go down yet another of my rabbit holes which I am so particularly good at doing and lets see if I can come back out at the beginning of my thought. So bear with me for a minute.
I was speaking with a friend who is truly going through a spiritual transformation in that she is coming back to the Catholic Church but through the traditional faith of her ancestors and it is a wonderful thing to witness. She said to me that she wanted to bring together people that she knows who she wants to take that very same journey, but she does not want to force any opinion on them and simply wants to find out what their faith means to them in order to possible show them what they missed. She said, because I have no right to say anything because I did not lead a perfect life and they may say well who are you? She said I simply want to have a discussion or dialogue.
I responded by saying you do not need to dialogue at all. Just live and practice the faith consistently day by day, week by week, month by month and year by year. All that was said and dialogued was done by Christ. Job done.
Why? Because we live in a time where people may get swept up in something, but it does not last. They eventually move on to the next thing. Our faith is much the same thing. I told her that by living the faith consistently you are saying all that needs to be said. These people will say things like are you still …
Then I said you do not have the time to convert everybody and only spend your time on those that want to learn because after all that is how she got here. She was open to hearing and that is a gift from God. Not everyone has that gift. Why is that the case? Because people want to dialogue instead of praying, people want to dialogue instead of taking the time to receive the sacraments, people want to do everything other than actually practicing the faith.
The final thing I said was never compromised your words around the faith because you do not feel your life was a model life. I reminded her of St Paul and said “Did Paul ever negate his teaching do to his prior life of abusing Christs disciples? Nope, he move forward unapologetically with people because he owned them nothing and owed Christ everything. So I told her look to Christ and not yourself. You have been given a great gift of faith, and you need to get going.
Christ said two very important things.
Matthew 11:15
"He that hath ears to hear, let him hear."
Matthew 10:14
"And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words: going forth out of that house or city shake off the dust from your feet."
Why did he say that?
Because Christ never suffers the fool nor should you.
Do we really believe that Jesus was God? I mean really believe that?
Do we really believe that God is past, present, and future and therefore everlasting?
If we really do then why in the world would we think that what Christ said was not enough? Why do we feel that time changes anything he said. I mean if we truly believe why do we not act like we believe? Why do we put handcuffs on what he said as if we as mere humans can negate what he said?
I have said before that I am just a Nono with a microphone. Well truthfully everyone that is out there talking whether is be the highest ranking podcast or networks or politicians or church officials are just humans unless they do one very important thing “Realize Christ was the prophet that was foretold and so once he came and starting speaking and teaching all those that came before and after him either echo his words and guidance or they are just noise makers and nothing more.
Look at
Isaiah 7:14
"Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign. Behold a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and his name shall be called Emmanuel."
Isaiah 9:6
"For a CHILD IS BORN to us, and a son is given to us, and the government is upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called, Wonderful, Counsellor, God the Mighty, the Father of the world to come, the Prince of Peace."
Isaiah 53:3-5
"Despised, and the most abject of men, a man of sorrows, and acquainted with infirmity: and his look was as it were hidden and despised, whereupon we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our infirmities and carried our sorrows: and we have thought him as it were a leper, and as one struck by God and afflicted. But he was wounded for our iniquities, he was bruised for our sins: the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and by his bruises we are healed."
How many years was the book of Isaiah written before Christ came on to the scene? 700 Years.

Micah 5:2
"And thou Bethlehem Ephrata, art a little one among the thousands of Juda, out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be the ruler in Israel: and his going forth is from the beginning, from the days of eternity."
How many years was the book of Micah written before Christ came on to the scene? 750 Years.
Zechariah 9:9
"Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Sion, shout for joy, O daughter of Jerusalem: BEHOLD THY KING will come to thee, the just and saviour: he is poor, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt, the foal of an ass."
How many years was the book of Zechariah written before Christ came on to the scene? 750 Years.
So they spoke about the greatest of all Prophets and then he appeared, and he spoke and yet what did the talking heads of his time do even though they all read scripture, and they all knew? They decided they knew better and so what ever words that were uttered from the mouth of Christ had to conform to their words.
See as I say over and over again “there is nothing new under the sun” we are no different today than the scribes and pharisees of Christs time.
Getting back to my conversation with my friend, we do not need to do anything more than live the faith. Christ said all that needed to be said. He provided us with his teaching and then left us the mystical body of himself the Catholic Church. If people need more than its on them to take the first step and that is to practice the faith and practice it consistently and unapologetically. Why? Because they are not the ones teaching or practicing it. Christ is through his words and his graces. If you have been given the grace take the oxygen first and pray hard you do not fall into temptation and continue to practice the faith. Be like the little Children and do not make it to complicated. Practice the faith that was handed down over the generations and the traditions and know Christ not only left us his mystical body, but he gave us his mother as an intercessor in our times of doubt and trouble and like my granddaughter says “Come to our aid oh Blessed Mother” and use that belief everyday to go out and convert somebody through your actions. Good Day
