Heroic act in the middle of destruction

Ahmad Hamid Shorish and his family recently moved to El Cajon on a Special Immigrant Visa, a program available to people who worked with the U.S. Armed Forces or under Chief of Mission authority as a translator or interpreter in Iraq or Afghanistan. Friday, a fire that started in the apartment above Shorish's at Evergreen Gardens Apartments and destroyed everything he had built over the last few six months. But a selfless and brave act by Shorish saved a baby boy's life.
