Zmarły Rabin Moises Romm, był naczelnym rabinem miasta Bloemfontein, na terenie ówczesnej Unii Południowej Afryki, dzisiejszej Republiki Południowej Afryki. Był tam znajomym różnych premierów, zwłaszcza Dr. DF Malana, który był premierem w latach 1948-1954. W 1952 r. rabin Romm napisał hebrajsko-afrikaans Siddur (modlitewnik) na szabat i dał jego kopię Dr. Malanowi. Oboje prowadzili skromne życie i żaden nie był bogaty.
