"Shadow v Substance", (Colossians 2:16-23), 2024-02-04, Longbranch Community Church

Pastor John Day had a very simple message today for all of us at Longbranch Community Church; Don’t get lost in the weeds!” The sermon, titled “Shadow v Substance,” was taken from Colossians 2:16-23. In it, John pointed out that extra-biblical man made precepts #1 may point to God, #2 they often sidetrack folks from their pursuit of God, and #3 do no good anyway. And the reason? Very simple: Because they are not “of God.”

In addition to today’s beautiful music, we observed Communion and enjoyed a wonderful surprise: The surprise celebration of dear Ms. Carol R’s 90th birthday. Our heartfelt appreciation of Carol was obvious; the food was delicious and the fellowship was sweet.
