Beware of the Thieves Amongst You

It is amazing how changing even one small adjective in a Bible verse can completely change the meaning of what it says. If we change “A” to “The” John 10:10 says something that Jesus never said and never intended. Of course it would help if we would read more than just the one verse, maybe actually read those that came before or after. But most #pastors won't do that because they want you to know their opinion rather than what Jesus actually said. And that is actually what Jesus was warning about in John 10:10. If we follow those who are not of God, we will lose everything spiritually and materially. So know the Holy Spirit's voice instead.

Throughout His Ministry and all of His Teachings, #JesusChrist made it clear we are not to focus on or value material things. He is not saying we cannot have them but that they cannot be so important to us we are failing to live as He did. Yet, that seems to be the number one focus in so many #churches and in the lives of #Christians. One of the major reasons we are not reaching those outside our churches, those who are hurting and truly need the #Peace of #Christ, is we are so obsessed with our buildings, programs, and the amount of #offerings we are collecting. They see that and wonder what is different about us and why they would ever want to be a part of that. Going forward, let’s be more like Christ. Let them see #God in us and then maybe they will actually want to come into the #KingdomofGod.
