Suspect faces multiple homicide charges after Florida trooper, truck driver killed in pursuit

A man, accused of evading a traffic stop on a Florida interstate, now faces multiple homicide charges following a tragic incident where a state trooper and a semi-truck driver lost their lives during the ensuing pursuit, as announced by authorities.

The incident unfolded in St. Lucie County early Friday when Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Zachary Fink, 26, attempted to apprehend a fleeing felon driving recklessly.

Despite Fink’s efforts, the suspect refused to stop and initiated a pursuit. The situation took a devastating turn when the suspect abruptly changed direction, driving against traffic on the interstate.

In an attempt to apprehend the suspect and warn other drivers, Fink also turned around.

Tragically, a collision occurred between Fink’s vehicle and an 18-wheeler semi-truck, resulting in the fatalities of both Fink and the truck driver, ABC News reported.
