"The Case of the Winthrop Legend" is the seventh episode of the first season of the 1954 TV series Sherlock Holmes.
In the episode, Harvey Winthrop asks Holmes to help him prevent his brother's potential death due to a family legend. The legend states that any Winthrop who finds silver coins will die. Holmes travels to the Winthrop manor but is unable to prevent the death of John Winthrop.
