The brilliance of Thomas Sowell continues. The problem with "statistics" is not that they can be manipulated. They are fundamentally flawed. People and groups of people move into and out of designated categories constantly, making static statistics inherently inaccurate because they cannot quantify the dynamic and ever changing human family and community.
