Washington urges Iraq to protect US troops while refusing to withdraw

The US State Department has said Iraq must do more to protect American forces in the country. However, the Iraqi government has long urged the US to withdraw its remaining 2,500 troops. The Pentagon once again disregarded this earlier in the year, stating that it’s not going anywhere.
