Austin Police Shoot Man who Stabbed Several People and Killed One

Bodycam Release Date 2/2/2024 Austin, TX - On 1/21/2024, an incident unfolded in northeast Austin when 26-year-old Jose Reynaldo Martinez-Argueta allegedly went on a stabbing spree, resulting in the death of a woman and leaving two others with life-threatening injuries. The Austin Police Department swiftly responded to the scene, where they found Martinez-Argueta brandishing a knife inside a residence on Uttimer Lane. In a video capturing the encounter, three officers can be seen firing their weapons at the suspect, ultimately injuring him. Martinez-Argueta now faces serious charges, including murder and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is currently being held in jail on a combined bond of $3.1 million.
