This is by design, says Newman, the author of the new book, Indoctrinating Our Children to Death: Government Schools' War on Faith, Family & Freedom--And How to Stop It.

Ultimately, despite public schools' absolute failure to educate children, under the U.S. Constitution, the federal government has no power under Article I, Section VIII, to insert itself into the education of children, something America's founders believed was the sole duty of parents. If Americans wish to save not only their children but also their nation, there simply must be a complete exodus from public schools.
