Hi Y’all,
I am keen to continue with this summary of my recent checks on 115 people from 3 different locations in Queensland and Northern New South Wales, Australia. 42 people in Nanango, 39 in Alstonville and 34 in Coffs Harbour.
To recap, I feel that the appearance of the live blood has got a lot worse in the last 3 months. The key feature is a worsening of the contamination from presumed hydrogel and particles within the blood. Overall there have been less structures like ribbons, fibres and gels in the blood and those that have been seen appear to be more closely associated with the hydrogel “bubbles” than noted to be the case previously.
I have suggested that these fibres, ribbons and gels as seen on the slide may not actually be in the blood in vivo but may precipitate out from the hydrogel rapidly due to significant change in the physical conditions when the blood is placed on the slide. This does not make me feel any better about our situation but it suggests to me that the focus needs to be on reducing the contamination from the hydrogel and the particles and not on focussing on the presence of these structures as a biomarker, i.e. in the the number of structures correlating with the degree of contamination of the hydrogel - because they don’t appear to, in my opinion.
