SAMURAI DIVORCE:

I had this whole poetic voiceover planned, thinking it would add depth to the story. But you know, once I paired the scene with music and watched the fight sequences come to life, I realized the voiceover was actually taking away from the action. The music and the action just... spoke for themselves, so I kept it to just the fight and the soundtrack.

I’d love to hear what you think. The voiceover was inspired by the iconic voiceovers in "Conan" and "Shogun Assassin," which are really well-crafted. I'll post it below; hope you enjoy the poetic nature of it. It was from the point of view of one of the surviving witnesses.

Samurai Divorce

In the land where honor intertwines with the soul, I stood as a silent guardian, a witness to a tale of love and loss, of honor and heartache. This is the story of a woman, a warrior born from the shadows of the Samurai, bound by a legacy as ancient as the stars. Her tale unfolded before my eyes, marked by my own blood and scars.

Her love was as deep as the ocean, her devotion unwavering. Yet, fate, in its cruel jest, bestowed upon them a burden too heavy to bear. A union, once the symbol of unbreakable strength, now a shattered mirror of unfulfilled dreams. No child graced their home, casting a shadow of shame upon their honor.

Her beloved, torn between love and dishonor, fled to the distant lands of America. A heart split in two, a spirit caught in the winds of conflict. He sought refuge from the storm of their tradition, hoping against hope to escape the destiny written in their blood.

In the final act of this tragic dance, as steel clashed against steel, I found myself beneath his blade, a wounded sentinel of a love too profound for this world. My blood was a silent testament to their story, a story of a heart willing to embrace death at the hands of her beloved to save him from dishonor.

In her eyes, I saw the sorrow of a love that could only end in the embrace of death. Yet, he ran, not out of cowardice, but out of love, a desperate attempt to spare her from their shared fate. And so, their story awaited its final chapter, written not with ink, but with the steel of the Samurai – a tale of a love too profound, a duty too sacred, and a 'Samurai Divorce', in the truest sense.
