Enviro-Mental-Creep Tells The World That Having Children Is Immoral, Destroys The Planet

An environmental lobbyist addressed viewers on British news channel GB News on Tuesday, asserting that the act of having children poses a "moral issue" due to the significant carbon footprint they are expected to generate throughout their lives. Donnachadh McCarthy argued for the reduction of childbirth, suggesting that having only one child is commendable. McCarthy, known for his advocacy with groups such as Just Stop Oil and Extinction Rebellion, conveyed to the news station, "When my dad was born, there were 1.6 billion people on the planet. When I was born, there were 3 billion. Now there are 8 billion, and we are heading towards eleven."

He highlighted the changing dynamics, noting, "Women are working now and looking for a quality of life, and they don’t want to spend their lives pregnant." McCarthy delved into the environmental impact, stating, "We’ve destroyed 70 percent of nature. There’s a moral issue here. How can we pass that on to the next generation?" He emphasized the carbon footprint of each child, asserting, "Every child in an industrial country like ours has around 505 hundred tonnes of carbon over their lifetime." He further conveyed, "That’s equivalent to 1000 years of electricity for a household. So each child has an impact, and we’re saying one is great, two is plenty, and three is selfish."
