Over the course of 18 days, a man is accused of strangling his live-in spouse and dismembering her body into 35 parts before dumping them in Delhi's Mehrauli forest. It was entirely completed in May 2022. Every day at 2 a.m., he would go outside to dispose of the body pieces. He was detained by the police for five days after his arrest. After an altercation on May 18, Aftab Ameen Poonawala strangled his live-in partner Shraddha Walkar. He then cut up her body and purchased a 300-liter refrigerator to store them. He scattered the fragments throughout Delhi's forest over the course of the following 18 days.

Shraddha, who is 26 years old, met Poonawala while working at a call centre for an MNC in Mumbai. After they got together, they moved in together. The couple fled to delhi after her family disapproved of their romance. In September, Shraddha's friend told her brother that her phone had been off for more than two months and that her family had noticed that she had stopped posting to social media. The victim's father went to the police in november and expressed his suspicions that Poonawala was responsible for his daughter's disappearance. After discovering the apartment was locked, he reported a kidnapping to the Mehrauli police.
