Farmers, Ranchers, Rural Arizona Residents Join Senator Sine Kerr to Speak
Out Against Governor Hobbs' Abuse of Power on Groundwater Management
PHOENIX, ARIZONA— Members of the media are invited to join Senator Sine Kerr, the Arizona Farm
Bureau, the Maricopa County Farm Bureau, as well as farmers, ranchers, and landowners from Gila Bend and
across the state at a press conference Tuesday to speak out against Governor Hobbs' abuse of power over Gila
Bend by initiating a hearing regarding designation of an Active Management Area in their basin.
Over the last several months, Senator Kerr has worked diligently with rural Arizonans from all economic sectors
on a proposal to manage the health of their own aquifers and introduced SB 1221 to preserve local economies
while ensuring an adequate supply of groundwater for generations to come. Despite this proposal, the Governor
is attempting to circumvent the Legislature and launch big government overreach, which promises to have
detrimental impacts to the livelihoods of rural Arizonans.
Speakers will take relevant questions at the conclusion of their remarks.
