Sofia Coppola Finds Out People Are DONE With the GIRL BOSS!

Hollywood poster child of nepotism, Sofia Coppola found out in a hurry that what might have passed in entertainment in 2016, isn't going to fly any more in a post-strike landscape.

AppleTV handed the lesser Coppola a massive deal to produce an adaptation of Edith Wharton’s classic novel The Custom of the Country in 2020. Florence Pugh was attached to play the lead, Undine Spragg, but because of time not spent working on the project and the interpretation of Spragg being an "unlikeable female protagonist," Apple decided to pull the plug.

If Sofia thought so strongly about the project, perhaps she could make like her old man, the great Francis Ford Coppola, and pony up the money for the show and shop it around, like he is doing with Megalopolis.

But it's just easier to blame men and complain than do something you believe in lol.
