In a 5-4 decision, The Supreme Court ruled that federal Border Patrol Agents can remove the barbed wire and barriers that Texas deployed in Shelby Park. This comes after Texas national guard removed all federal agents from Shelby Park, Eagle Pass, Texas. Governor Greg Abbott publicly stated that he will not comply with the SCOTUS ruling, citing Article 1 § 10 Clause 3 of the U.S. Constitution, and will continue to occupy this 30 mile section of the border in Eagle Pass. Texas military have deployed razor wire along the border to prevent illegal immigrants from entering the country. Republican Governors have voiced their support for Abbott as well as many Democrat urging President Biden to take drastic measures.
