Restaurant Style Dal Makhani Recipe - is very rich and creamy lentil dish originated in Punjab, served with rice, pulao. roti, naan and paratha.
Dal Makhni means Dal cooked in butter. Combination of urad dal and rajma, cooked in buttery gravy which is made out of flavorful spices, cream and tomato puree. Dal Makhani Recipe Restaurant Style is so tasty. It's a great dish to try out for any birthday and anniversary.
Kali daal/ whole black gram/ Urad dal: 1 cup
Rajma(kidney beans or Kashmiri beans): 1/2 cup
water for soaking
3 cups water, for pressure cooking
salt to taste
For dal makhani gravy:
4 tbsp butter
1 tbsp oil
1 tsp jeera
2 big onion, finely chopped
1 tbsp ginger paste
1 tbsp garlic paste
6 tbsp (1 cup) tomato puree
1.5 tsp - chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp kasuri methi
1/4 cup - coriander leaves, finely chopped
1 cup (100 ml) fresh cream
