Unveiling the Truth: Diagnosing a Blown Motor in Nashville Winter 2024

It snowed pretty good here in Nashville with the start of 2024. I have an Evinrude 150hp that was brought to me. It has a hole in the boat so the boat is going to scrap. Was asked to take a look at it and see if its salvageable.

I need to first get the trim unit working to get the motor down. Once I did that I was able to get the top cowl off and see what was going on. The motor was siezed and I discovered the #3 piston had exploded. The trim unit and the gearcase and maybe the flywheel is the only thing salvageable.
