A bill unanimously passed through a Florida House committee that would mandate disclaimers on political ads that contain certain content generated through AI, or artificial intelligence.

The bill, HB 919, carried by Rep. Alex Rizo, R-Hialeah, passed 12-0 in the Justice Appropriations Subcommittee Monday and has one more committee stop before being voted on by the full House.

Gov. Ron DeSantis called for reforms to the U.S. Constitution through the passage of resolutions seeking a constitutional convention during a press conference on Monday.

“[The] incentives are designed to produce poor outcomes,” DeSantis said. “The incentives are designed for more debt. The incentives are designed for politicians to put themselves first. The incentives are designed to have a separate ruling class.”
