Young sisters show Northern Kentucky University volleyball team the meaning of perseverance
6 years ago
2
The women's volleyball team at Northern Kentucky University grew by two players Monday. Taylor and Leah Conrad may be small -- they're 9 and 7 years old, respectively. But as the Norse found out, they've both got energy and fight beyond their years. Leah has epilepsy; she can have up to 10 seizures a day. Taylor also is epileptic, and she's in remission from an immune disorder that attacks her platelets. Team Impact, a nonprofit that connects children facing serious and chronic illnesses with collegiate teams, helped the girls "sign" with the Norse. And players more than double the girls' age got a lesson in perseverance.
