The Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes is one of the most valuable examples of Spanish Gothic architecture (isabelino).

The construction of the monastery lasted from the middle of the XV to the XVII century. The church, completed in 1495, was consecrated in honor of San Juan the Evangelist (John the Theologian).

The Gothic monastery complex of San Juan de los Reyes, towering in the southwestern part of Toledo, remains an active monastery of the Franciscan Order.
