The Hebrew Worldview, Ep. 13: The King of God Most High

Abraham is important, but an even more important character emerges early in his entry into Canaan. Shortly after the battle of Valley of Siddim, he meets Melchizedek of Salem, king-priest of God Most High, the Creator of heaven and earth. Though only mentioned twice in the Old Testament, the king of God Most High becomes an important character to later Israelites and Jews since he is a link to a much deeper heritage. Yahweh was present in the land of Canaan even before Abraham, and he would reestablish dominance over his creation.
