Microsoft Fires 1900 Gaming Employees, Making Xbox Completely Digital!

Microsoft just laid off 1,900 gaming employees from Activision Blizzard, Zenimax and their Xbox studios. That roughly accounts for 8% of their gaming division given their walking papers, but where they were released from is a bigger story.

According to a whistle blower, an entire department was gutted. That was the physical release department, which could signal the end of disc based released for the Xbox console. Leaked specs of a Series X refresh have indicated a move away from a disc drive, so in conjunction with this news, Microsoft gamers are on the cusp of kissing their gaming property rights goodbye!
