Daisy Ridley Defends Star Wars Fans! Disney Trying to Win You Back?

Disney and Lucasfilm are trying really hard to make you forget about their poor treatment of lifelong Star Wars fans ahead of their expected bombing run at the cinema. Years of claiming the fanbase is toxic and fully of misogynistic, racist, "-ists" and "-phobes" as opposed to passionate fans really did a number on their good will. Compound that with the insufferable introduction of Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and you can see why the studio is so desperate to do some damage control. So deploy a generally likeable face!

Daisy Ridley, in an attempt to seem normal and garner some good will based on her persona, has been on the interview tour ahead of the new Rey movie, The New Jedi Order, and she is talking about how the fanbase is simply misunderstood. They are passionate about their space wizard movies and she hasn't faced any backlash from fans, she claims. All though, that was not the tune she was singing back in 2017, it's a new leaf and strategy, so good on her. But perhaps it's too little, too late.
