The Believer Who Sins

When I was a child there was a saying that was common. When anyone did something morally wrong, they would say “God will punish you”. The rebuke was worse when you did wrong and got hurt in the process, then it was a definite “God is punishing you”. As I grow older that saying seem to dissipate with time, and the misfortunes of life were written off as normal everyday events having nothing to do with God.
Many years later, and now as a follower of Jesus that lingering thought has surfaced once again regarding the judgement of God towards me.
Let me say it this way –
What happens to the Believer who sins?
Is there any difference between those who follow Jesus and those who don’t?
Does God really punish the believer and non-believer equally?
You’ll be surprised and amazed by what the LORD revealed to me in His Word.
