Iceweed was offered between January 27, 2024 through February 4, 2024.

35 Iceweed seeds are awarded for completing this event consisting of five (5) levels.

Iceweed is a member of the Winter-Mint family.
Iceweed costs 150 Sun. (-25 Sun at levels 3, 7 and 8.)
Iceweed does 10 damage to all zombies which walk on it. (+5 damage per level.)
This damage is doubled once plant food has been given to Iceweed.
Zombies which walk on Iceweed are chilled for three (3) seconds. (+1 second on levels 2, 5 and 8.)
Iceweed can be destroyed by barrels and pianos and the like. Same problem that Spikeweed and Spikerock have.

Commentary:
This is Spikeweed/Spikerock with a chilling trait.

Bottom Line:
Iceweed suffers from the same problems that the spikes do - too easily removed and doesn't do enough to justify a seed slot.

It's not that Iceweed is a bad plant, it is not. We prefer Iceweed to Spikeweed and Spikerock. It's just that there are better options and where do these spikes get played? Column 8/9 to slow down every zombie or column 5/6 with Bonk Choy punching the frozen invaders?

We do not get a preview of Penny's Pursuit before it is released. So what you see is what players get.

We also try to vary the strategies from week to week and showcasing different plants and strategies and ideas. Using the same strategy week after week would be boring to see.
