The Xbox layoffs are starting and will likely develop more in the coming days. This is not the Xbox news folks were looking for in the start of 2024. But the Xbox Activision deal is turning into what any of us said it would, bad for the employee and the consumer.

The Xbox Activision layoffs brings 2024 to about half of what 2023 saw in the way of gaming layoffs. But seeing Mike Ybarra leaving Blizzard is a sign that this is more than just removing redundancies. What will happen with big games like Call of Duty Warzone with teams gutted and let go?
