Heather’s father died just prior to the pandemic and her mother, who suffered from Alzheimer’s dementia, was left without him for the first time in 67 years. The subsequent moves in housing and the lockdowns further confused Heather’s mom who thought she had been kidnapped. It would be 5 months before a family member would be allowed visit her and give her a hug.
