Runs 2:34 | CHICAGO (AP) -- The opening-day magic continued for Chicago -- but just barely. Jim Harbaugh's 6-yard touchdown pass to Tom Waddle with one second left capped a 74-yard drive in the last 71 seconds for the victory. With Chicago ahead by 20-17, Peete, who was 18 for 26 for 273 yards, brought the Lions back 80 yards in four plays, hitting Willie Green from 27 yards with 1:12 left to put Detroit ahead, 24-20. Harbaugh moved the Bears to the Detroit 11. There were 19 seconds left and one time out. Harbaugh faded back, looked over the middle and threaded the ball between three Lions and found Waddle over the middle, about 3 yards deep in the end zone as the clock showed one second left.
