Winchester Ranger Lever Action .22 Rifle - SHOT Show 2024

The new Winchester Ranger is the successor to the firm’s famous Winchester 1894-22. As such, it borrows much of its general styling from the Winchester logo on the receiver tang to the checkered plastic butt plate to the straight gripped oiled walnut buttstock and fore stock. The Ranger features a 20.5-inch chromoly steel barrel with an eleven-degree target crown. The length is sufficient to support the fifteen-round tubular magazine underneath.

Ergonomically, the Ranger has a 13-inch length of pull, a happy medium to accommodate both tall and short-statured shooters. The sights include an adjustable semi-buckhorn rear and a front post, but the billet aluminum receiver is machined for 3/8-inch scope rings. The action has a traditional and smooth lever throw that shooters have come to expect from Winchester for over a century. In addition, the advertised 3.5–5.5-pound trigger pull has an adjustable overtravel screw to achieve best accuracy. Like other legacy Winchester rimfires like the Model 1890 and 62a rifles, the Ranger takes down into two halves with the simple removal of one screw.
