Scammers are targeting Kentucky families seeking affordable health insurance, according to Attorney General Andy Beshear. Beshear issued a Scam Alert Friday after receiving reports that scammers who claim to be calling from “National Health Enrollment Center” pretend to assist families in obtaining affordable health insurance. The caller offers plans as low as $199 a month for individuals and $399 a month for families, Beshear said. The caller then transfers the person to a “specialist,” who tries to steal personal and financial information. The specialist asks for credit card information for a service fee or the first monthly payment.
