Ecclesiastes:
A Poem

I once was a sea fairing vessel;
A ship who knew Eden's waters;
But the rudder was crushed under curiosity’s pestle
And the cross-staff was lost in sin’s mortars.

The Portholes were blinded by a foaming sea
And the galley served death to reality.
A clay craft was sunk, then rebuilt of a tree,
Taking on the salt water of debauchery.

Storms rolled over the North Star’s ray.
"Vanity! Vanity! All is vanity," echoed on the horizon.
What golden treasure could be use to pay
The debt owed at the shores of Zion?

A mortal ark lost on the ocean and free—
Asked to cultivate, build, and believe.
