Lord Ayyappa, also known as Manikandan, is a Hindu deity worshipped mainly in the South Indian states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. He is believed to be the son of Lord Shiva and the feminine incarnation of Vishnu, known as Mohini. Ayyappa is revered as a protector and a symbol of unity and equality, drawing devotees from various backgrounds and castes. His most famous shrine is the Sabarimala Temple in Kerala, which attracts millions of pilgrims every year, especially during the annual pilgrimage season from November to January.
