This in not my usual type of video on this channel, but I was on my way home from filming an audit, and took the opportunity to film a winter sunset drone flight at Windy Hill. Ironically there was no wind! 😂
I thought I would share the moment with you all ❤️

The Windy Hill Transmitter was built in 1951, as part of a backbone communications network, serving as an early warning system should there have been a nuclear attack on the UK. Cables were problematic as they were routed through cities, and could be compromised easily if subjected to a nuclear ground blast. An overground wireless system was used instead, with a network of these transmitters located at key rural locations around the country.
This transmitter has since been repurposed as a mobile phone mast, and stands as a historical landmark, standing tall and prominent close to the summit of the M62 motorway.
