The trial of Hong Kong billionaire Jimmy Lai has attracted international attention after he was put on trial again at the end of last year.

Mr Lai founded the pro-democracy newspaper Apple Daily and was on the frontlines of Hong Kong's pro-democracy protests.

The media tycoon was imprisoned in December 2022 for fraud. He is now on trial for sedition and collusion with foreign forces, which he has pleaded not guilty to.
