In New Haven, 50-year-old Robert Banks was arrested by police in connection with a theft at a local Walmart located at 315 Foxon Boulevard (Route 80). Officer Christian Carfora, observing Banks through surveillance footage, noticed him stealing various clothing items valued at $104.38. When Banks attempted to leave the store, Officer Carfora confronted him due to his suspicious behavior.

Banks then tried to flee to his car but was quickly apprehended by the officer. During the arrest, Banks confessed to stealing underwear, socks, and T-shirts from Walmart. He also disclosed that he was under the influence of drugs, which he started using following a friend's death. After spending a few hours in detention, Banks was released on a $2,500 bond. He faces charges of larceny in the 6th Degree and Interfering with an officer.
