Description:

In a concerning incident at the Bristol Police Department located at 131 North Main Street, 51-year-old Suzanne Laprise caused a significant disturbance. Laprise entered the lobby of the police station and used a handgun to bang on the windows of the front lobby desk office, which was unoccupied at the time. She then fired multiple rounds into the windows, but the bullet-resistant glass prevented penetration.

Officers on the scene tried to engage with Laprise verbally, but during these attempts, she fired additional rounds towards them. Officer Spencer Boisvert responded by discharging two shots. Thankfully, due to the bullet-resistant glass, no one was injured as it stopped all the rounds.

The situation was brought under control when Laprise placed her handgun down. Officers quickly entered the lobby, used an electronic defense weapon, and apprehended her. Following her arrest, Laprise was taken to Bristol Hospital for evaluation. After being released from the hospital, she was brought back to the Bristol Police Department.
