"Do not use other GENOCIDES to describe this one": Pro Israeli's Slip up on Gaza's Situation

It was a heated scene inside Burlington’s City Council meeting Monday night as a pro-Palestinian group pushed for the council to approve a Town Meeting Day ballot measure condemning Israel for the crisis in Gaza.

More than 1,500 Burlington residents signed on in support of putting an advisory question on the ballot in March that opposes all forms of racism and an end to what the petitioners call “Israel’s apartheid regime, settler colonialism, and military occupation.”

The slip up happened when pro Israeli UVM first-year student Josie Leit spoke.

The council eventually voted against the proposal in a 5-7 vote.
