Danville man charged with neglect in death of girlfriend's 4-year-old boy

A 23-year-old Danville man has been charged with battery and neglect in the death of his girlfriend's young son last November.  Officers were called to assist the Danville Fire Department on November 11 after a call came in about an unconscious 4-year-old boy.  The child had to be revived with CPR and his injuries were so severe that he was placed on a ventilator and transferred to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. He died two days later.  The Marion County Medical Examiner's Office determined that the child's injuries were caused by blunt force trauma. His death was officially ruled a homicide last week.
