Christians all over the world have heard the story about Jonah and the Whale. About a man who was swallowed by a whale.
Marine scientists believe the story is false because a whale’s throat (or stomach) is too small to swallow a human.
Well, scientists are 100% correct.
The bible never says Jonah was swallowed by a whale, the bible, in Jonah 1:17, mentions a big fish.
If you think a whale is a big fish then you were sleeping in biology class.
If you remember, whales are NOT fish. Whales are sea mammals. A mammal is a creature that feeds their young milk. Although whales are in the water, they feed their babies milk just like cows and humans.
Whale milk in your cereal anyone?
Also, fish are not able to breathe air. Whales are capable of breathing air, which is another reason why they are not classified as a fish.
So therefore, Jonah could NOT have been swallowed by a whale. So, which big fish was it? The bible doesn’t specify the species of fish, so we don’t know. We do know it was not a whale or a dolphin.
Yes, dolphins are sea mammals as well.
We also know it wasn’t Jaws because he was not born yet.
The only thing we know for sure, according to the bible, is that it was a fish and it was big.
