On the Bus in Issan - Bueng Kan to Sakon Nakon - Slow Travel in North East Thailand #thailandvlogs

Well, I was up with the birds, at the Bueng Kan Bus Terminal at 545am, so as to catch the bus to Sakon Nakhon.

The initial 150 baht journey was comfortable and the sunrise laded scenes early in the trip, well they were simply superb.

However, there was a couple of late curve balls ...

Firstly, we were dropped off a the highway intersection splitting Sakon Nakon to the left and Udon Thani, to right ... i.e. it was not a direct trip to between the main bus terminals.

So, I needed to get a Tuk Tuk (30 baht) to a small bus depot, where I then caught another bus to big station.
I got a bit angsty for a little bit, but once I was on the last leg of the trip I felt fine.

And on reflection, I do recall that a number of local folks were really hospsitable, with productive, reassuring advice along the way.

Ah, the joys of independent travel ... where we go, there we are ...
