Japan's Lunar Lander SLIM Launched In Sept, Soft-lands On The Moon

Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) launched the 'Smart Lander for Investigating Moon' (SLIM) mission, along with a space telescope called XRISM from the Tanegashima Space Center on Sept. 6, 2023. SLIM completed a soft landing on the moon on Jan. 19; but suffered a glitch with its solar array. JAXA's president Yamakawa Hirosha and director general Hitoshi Kuninaka explain.
