Humour can sometimes help soothe the wallop of your monthly food budget.

You're not alone if you're anything like me.
When I arrive at the checkout desk, I catch myself giving a slight evil eye to the clerk as she scans, as if it's her fault my cart is overflowing from top to bottom.
I watch the register and cringe as the items fling down the belt and add up to a much larger sub-total than I had added in my head.
