Runs 2:32 | Dec. 8, 1985 - The Patriots routed the Lions, 23-6, en route to New England's appearance in Super Bowl XX. New England opened the scoring for the game as quarterback Tony Eason scrambled eight yards for a touchdown. The Patriots opened a 17-3 halftime lead and never looked back the rest of the game. Tony Franklin booted three field goals (38, 50 and 22 yards) and running back Craig James gained 115 yards on 26 carries for the Patriots. James Jones rushed for 92 yards on 16 carries in a losing effort for the Lions.
