Science textbooks will point out a contradiction between the Periodic Table of Elements and the classical 4 elementals. RAMBAM mentions the 4 Yesodot in the Mishnah Torah's Yesodei HaTorah. The Yesodot are actually what the scientist are calling the 4 States of Matter.
